Stephen Witt is a Los Angeles-based author, television producer, and investigative journalist. His 2025 book The Thinking Machine, a history of AI giant Nvidia, hit the best-seller list in multiple countries and was named the FT Business Book of the Year. His previous book, How Music Got Free, a history of the mp3 revolution, was published in 2015 and made into a Showtime television documentary. He frequently writes for the New Yorker.
